This is the conversation I didn’t even know I needed. A tea breakdown?! Yes please!! ps: frothing with jealousy over the silver steeper lolol what a find!! ☕️🌀
Can't pass up the opportunity to mention how much I love Houjicha - it's a Japanese green tea, oven roasted, which gives a very nutty, toasted, earthy flavor. Certain varieties are made from twigs and stems, all are great with oat milk for lattes. Other favs include Zheng Shan Xiao Zhong, "Sweet Potato" tea - a variety of lapsang souchong, very delicate and does indeed taste a bit of sweet potato, and finally, barley tea, for when you want something earthy and non-caffinated.
I used to live in San Francisco and that’s where I discovered this Turmeric Wellness Tea from Leaves and Flowers. This with a generous spoonful of raw honey? A dream! If you’re in the bay I think they carry this at Bi Rite, the Mill, Earthen, and many other local shops.
I love this share and am so grateful for some new recommendations. Thank you! One of my favorite parts of the day is sharing a cup of tea with you on Range. My favorite tea is from Light of Day Organic Tea Farm in Traverse City, MI. It’s a certified organic and biodynamic farm in the USA and beautiful to visit to boot. It’s woman owned as well. :) If you haven’t tried it, I highly recommend it!
My absolute favorite source (small family owned and brimming with integrity) for herbal blends and hand-picked exquisite green black and oolong is High Garden Tea out of Nashville. Their herbal blending is some of the most potent yet tasty medicine. Their "lingering clouds" green is so perfectly savory but not too grassy and their milky oolong is a damn treat. Hope tariffs don't make my daily habit even more $$$ lol! I love that antique strainer!
Came here to suggest High Garden as well! I have too many favorite blends to name, and their Spellbound potion over ice is perfect for summer time, front porch sippin before making dinner 🙌🏼
I don't drink a ton of Earl Grey but this post is going to cause me to brew some this afternoon. In winter I deeply gravitate towards chais with milk and honey. In spring, green teas (I prefer Japanese over Chinese, or a Moroccan Mint). If you're ever in Saratoga NY, we have a fantastic shop called Saratoga Tea & Honey that has a honey tasting room and I'd say over 100 teas. They also sell online and one of my absolute favorite herbals is called Fountain of Youth!
I drink a large cup of Rosewood and Silver Daily Dose throughout the afternoon instead of a second cup of caffeinated tea. R&S is a great option for people in Canada! I dream of one day joining the monthly tea club, but I have promised myself to work through my large collection first... https://rosewoodandsilver.com/collections/rosewood-tea-blends/products/rosewoods-everyday-tea
ahhh thank you so much for this! I love a cup of tea, it reminds me of my mom.
Some of my favorites right now are from a local herbal mercantile in Oregon, called Mountain Rose Herbs, they have a Red Rooibos chai, Firefly chai, and it's so warm, another go to Quiet Child, perfect sleepy time tea. Another New favorite is by Wild Coast, right off the coast of Oregon small business, their jasmine tea with floral notes called "The Alley", complements a spring day at 65 degrees or in a pitcher steeped for iced tea. Thanks for beginning the convo, Kara, This is so fun!!
Tea with my Mom was an important part of growing up in rural Mass. in the 60's. We had a cup of tea before Yoga in Lincoln, Ma. and loved it. My love of teas expanded when our daughter came home from UVM trip to India and Nepal with teas. I carried through with teatime and Yoga for 40 years!!!
Great selection and choices for all that ales you. You inspired me to discover more.

Free Verse Farm is a great herbal tea farm from Chelsea, VT.
I love their Vermont blend!
Some of my most cherished moments involve you, me, and two cups of tea (and two dogs but that doesn’t rhyme) ❤️
And GBBS

You mentioned Yorkshire tea from your childhood…my family was a PG Tips family (I still drink their decaf one most evenings).

I could not recommend finding your favourite milky oolong and vanilla rooibos from what is available for you out there. Magic in a cup ❤️
